Who am I

A seasoned Project Management & IT Professional with a wide range of business and technical skill-set, that meet customer requirements, cost and quality objectives in a timely development using computer operations and programming styles to maximize business needs. An excellent communicator; who can articulate complex processes in an easy to understand terms for end users. Currently as an IT Consultant and Web Applications Developer with the New York City Department of Education, he works with a team of subject matter experts and other developers to configure, deploy and test the New York City Department of Education (NYCDoE) Special Education Student Information System (SESIS)

Before joining NYCDoE, Tamba worked with Canon Business Solutions and and Unisys Corporation in partnership with DELL at Wall Street. At Canon, he serviced, Networked and integrated Canon Digital ImageRunner Systems into fortune 500 corporate networks in the lower Manhattan district of New York. While working for DELL and Unisys, Tamba was responsible for several large scale corporate IT deployment projects and servicing IBM, Gateway and HP equipments.

Tamba is the Executive Director and Founder of SaloneTech LLC in New York and LAM-TECH Consulting Enterprises in Sierra Leone – Both affordable Information and communication Technology consulting companies serving customers in Sierra Leone and the United States. He co-founded Lam-Tech Foundation, Inc in New York a 501(c)(3)-pending non-profit organization based in New York. New York purpose: dedicated to helping under-served students, teachers, and communities in West Africa to establish and operate energy-efficient and sustainable virtual science labs enabled by Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

He attended Washington Computer & Management Academy in Freetown and TCI college of Technology, where he obtained a diploma in Computer Hardware Engineering and Associate degrees in Industrial Electronics and Computer Network Technology respectively. He went on to pursue his Bachelor’s degree at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) where he majored in Information Technology and specialized in Network Security and Telecommunications. In 2008, he enrolled at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University where he obtained a Master degree in Information Management and Telecommunications.

Tamba is actively involved in the community especially the Sierra Leone diaspora community. In the technology and professional arena, he is an active member of Project Management Institute (PMI), IEEE, IEEE computer society, IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Education Society, Comptia IT Professionals, Canon Association of Service Professionals (ATSP) and Microsoft Certified professionals (MCP).
